August 11, 2006 - Chellsie will be competing next week at her fifth USA National Championships in St. Paul, Minnesota! She will begin Thursday's preliminary competition on bars (5th up) and Saturday's finals on beam (1st up)! Also competing in her rotation will be Hilary Mauro, Jacquelyn Johnson, Ashley Priess, and Monica Shoji from Cincinnati Gymnastics.

August 3, 2006 - A link to a new interview has been added from USA Gymnastics. Their website is featuring interviews with many athletes over the next few weeks so be sure to check them out.

Despite recent reports that Chellsie would be missing Nationals due to a shoulder injury sustained earlier this year, International Gymnast Online has a recent article with Chellsie and her father. They talk about skipping U.S. Classic and getting ready for Nationals later this month and Worlds in October.

April 15, 2006 - Chellsie has added more medals to her haul from Hawaii! During event finals, she added a gold on beam by scoring a 15.700 (6.4 / 9.3) and beating Nastia Liukin by .075. This was one of her best beam routines ever, including a huge near-stuck double pike dismount.

She also earned a silver on floor with a 15.400 (5.9 / 9.5) behind teammate Jana Bieger. Overall, the US won the gold on all four events and the silver on bars, beam, and floor. Congratulations on a great meet Chellsie and Team USA!

April 14, 2006 - Chellsie has added another title to her already impressive resume after winning last night's all-around at the Pacific Alliance Championships! Chellsie once again tied with teammate Nastia Liukin with both gymnasts scoring 61.050. The United States also easily won the team competition, taking 4 of the top 5 all-around spots and a team total of 183.150 to Australia's 177.050 and Canada's 172.050. The competition will be broadcast on NBC on Sunday, April 16th at 4:00 EST so be sure to check your local listings and tune in!

Chellsie performed a clean Yurchenko layout full for a 14.30 (5.0) and a Hindorff and jam dislocate to double front on bars for a 15.50 (6.5). Her beam included her usual impressive skills, such as a barani, standing arabian, punch front, illusion 1/1, and a double pike dismount for a 15.80 (6.5).  Chellsie was also amazing on floor, sticking nearly all her tumbling passes: 2 whips to arabian double front, double layout, 2 1/2 twist to front layout, and a double pike for a 15.35 (6.0).

April 9, 2006 - Chellsie will be competing in her very first Pacific Alliance Championships as a senior! She competed as the junior alternate at the 2002 Championships. Chellsie was chosen for the team after a strong showing at a recent National Team training camp at the Karolyi ranch in Houston, Texas. Competing alongside Chellsie will be Nastia Liukin (WOGA), Jana Bieger (Boca Twisters), and Shayla Worley (Orlando Metro). The junior team will be Rebecca Bross (WOGA), Bianca Flohr (CGA), and Shawn Johnson (Chow's).

Team USA will be facing some tough competition from gymnasts from Australia, Canada, China, Japan, Mexico, and Russia, as well as many other countries. Some highlights of the international field include Elyse Hopfner-Hibbs (Canada), Aisha Gerber (CAN), Hollie Dykes (AUS), Monette Russo (AUS), Ayaka Sahara (JPN), Mayu Kuroda (JPN), and Elsa Garcia (MEX).

March 2006 - Chellsie is one of three nominees for the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame's Gymnast of the Year! The other two female nominees include Nastia Liukin and Cheng Fei (CHN). All three gymnasts won gold medals at the World Championships last November in Melbourne.

Be sure to vote for her before April 28th, when the winner will be announced!

February 27, 2006 - Chellsie is a finalist for the 2006 Sullivan award! She was also nominated in 2003. Fellow Wisconsin-native Paul Hamm won the award last year. The other nominee's for this year's award are: Seimone Augustus (LSU's women's basketball), Reggie Bush (USC football), Kerron Clement (Florida track), Matt Leinart (USC football), Steven Lopez (taekwondo), Bode Miller (snow skiing), J.J. Redick (Duke basketball), Laura Wilkinson (diving) and Vince Young (Texas football).

The award will be presented on April 12th at the the New York Athletic Club. You can even vote for the winner by visiting AAU's Sullivan Award page! Good luck Chellsie!

February 19, 2006 - Chellsie was honored at tonight's Milwaukee Waves soccer game!



February 5, 2006 - Chellsie has spent the last few weeks touring with the other members of the Worlds team on the "World Championship Victory Tour." They appeared at local invitationals to perform exhibition routines and sign autographs, including the WOGA Classic in Texas, Brestyan's Invitational in Massachusetts, and the M&M Gymnastics Midwest Challenge in Wisconsin.

We hope to have photos up soon from some of the events!



December 18, 2005 - Chellsie has made a major decision in her career. Instead of maintaining her NCAA eligibility and competing for a college or university next year, she has declared herself as a professional athlete! She will attempt to enroll at Marquette University as she continues to train as an elite gymnast through 2006, when she will revaluate her options for the 2008 Olympics.
