One of the most dynamic gymnasts in the sport, Kaitlin White has a bright future ahead. As a USA Junior she
achieved success internationally in countries like Belgium, Switzerland, France and Australia! Now at the University
of Alabama, Kaitlin has entered a new phase in her gymnastics career!
Born on October 6, 1986, Kaitlin has been a life-long resident of Allen, Texas. She is the oldest of
three children, has two brothers, Tanner (9-13-94) and Tucker (2-6-98).
Kaitlin began her gymnastics at the age of seven because "I was always flipping around!" She quickly rose up
the levels – level 5 at age seven, level 6 at age eight, level 8 at age ten, level 9 at age eleven and "Elite"
at the young age of twelve. Today she hoping for collegiate achievement at the University of Alabama .
She has already competed in several international competitions, including the 1999 Top Gym Tournament in Belgium,
the 2001 Goodwill Games in Australia, and twice in France. She has been a consistent competitor at WOGA Classics,
US Classics, and USA Nationals. Kaitlin made the US National team twice, despite numerous injuries throughout her career!
Because of several injuries requiring surgery (one the first week she was at
Bama), her results have been mixed
and because an injury she was not able to make the 2004 Olympic trials. She also grew 6 inches taller during her
recovery, so has had to adjust execution of all her skills. Despite these setbacks, she
continues to work hard to compete at her competence level with difficult skills she used before in her
routines and her execution keeps her in the spotlight and earns fans along the way!
She is one of very few elite gymnasts who attended public school (Allen, TX) where she was a straight "A" student,
even while spending 40 hours per week training a WOGA and taking time out for international travel for competitions.
Kaitlin is a scholarship athlete at the University of Alabama, one of the top schools in the country in academics and
one of the top 5 in gymnastics every year. Kaitlin continues to work hard so she can contribute to BAMA's success
and help ROLL TIDE in all areas of competition. She was recently honored as an
Academic All-American for her junior year.
