Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches' Academic National Team! Paige Burns and Adrienne Dishman were also named to the team. May 10, 2006: The Gymdogs recently had their end of the
year banquet. Courtney was given three awards, the "Kathy McMinn Award for
competitive consistency," "MVP All-Around," and "MVP
Beam." Coach Yoculan also announced "Courtney contributed the most

single-season list." Congratulations on your amazing season Courtney! April 25, 2006: Courtney continued her success at the NCAA Championships by claiming gold in the uneven bars
and balance beam finals! She also picked up a silver medal on floor behind two-time Olympian Kate Richardson of UCLA. Congratulations on
an amazing meet, Courtney! April 23, 2006: UGA successfully defended its team title tonight in Oregon! The team improved its total from yesterday in order to knock off Utah and Alabama. The three teams were very close all night and it made for one exciting Super Six Final! Courtney contributed some very high scores to
the team total! She posted a season high 9.975 on vault and followed up with a
9.900 on bars and a 9.950 on beam. Her 9.925 on floor helped the Gymdogs take
the lead over Alabama and secured her the top all-around position once again
with a total of 39.750. Courtney also had the top vault and beam scores of the
night! This is the second time that UGA has won
back-to-back championships (1998-1999 was the first). Georgia has finished a
season undefeated four times now and is the only program to have done so! April 21, 2006: UGA finished first in its session, advancing to the "Super Six" team finals. Courtney also
capped off her amazing freshman year with a very impressive title - she won the
all-around! The last Gymdog to win this title was Kim Arnold in 1998! Courtney's club teammate Elise Ray also won
the NCAA title in her freshman year while attending UMichigan. April 8, 2006: The Gymdogs are headed to Oregon for their 23rd consecutive National Championships appearance! You can follow all the action from the Gymdogs website! They earned the trip after finishing 1st at Regionals at home in Stegeman with a team total of 197.425. #12 Nebraska also earned a birth to Nationals with a total of 196.350. Missouri, North Carolina, NC State, and West Virginia also competed but did not qualify. Courtney
finished fifth in the all-around after posting a total of 39.275. She scored a
9.825 (8th) on vault, a 9.950 (1st) on bars, and a 9.900 (2nd) on beam but had

(1st) on bars, 9.875 (2nd) on beam, 9.925 (4th) on floor, and a 9.850 (3rd) on
vault for a total of 39.550. March 11, 2006: With a win over #9 Michigan tonight, 197.625-197.100, UGA finished the regular season
undefeated for the sixth time in history! Courtney also won her SEVENTH all-around title in a row as the team prepares for the
post season. Courtney also won all FOUR event titles. March 7, 2006: #1 UGA barely edged #6 Utah tonight in Salt Lake City, 197.100-197.075, to remain undefeated.
This was Utah's first loss and UGA's closet margin of victory of the season. March 3, 2006: UGA earned a victory for their fans at their last home meet this season over #19 Kentucky, 196.625-194.450.
This meet extends the winning streak to 13-0 this season! February 24, 2006: Despite a rocky showing in Auburn, the Gymdogs were able to beat the Tigers 196.550-196.150.
Courtney posted a career high all-around score of 39.675 and won yet another title! She also earned a career high on bars with a 9.975 (1st).
She had a 9.900 (1st) on floor and a 9.900 (1st) on beam to save the team victory after a rough rotation that included several falls. February 23, 2006: Courtney's photos have been updated with pictures
from training in 2005 and various meets this year! February 19, 2006: The GymDawgs continue to roll through the rest of the competition as they easily defeated an injury-ridden #9 UCLA team this weekend at home. The Gymdawgs won by over two points, 197.525 - 195.200!
Courtney herself had a career high all-around total of
39.650 that earned her first place. She started out the night on vault, where
she was the 2nd the last gymnast in the lineup. Her 9.925 with the tiniest
shuffle on the landing gave her 2nd place on the event! On bars she was amazing
and scored a 9.950 as the last gymnast to go, placing her 1st on that event! Her
beam was crisp and clean for a 9.900 and another second place finish.
Unfortunately a stumble on her double pike dismount on floor prevented her from
getting another 9.9+ plus score as she received a 9.875 for 3rd. February 13, 2006: #6 Oklahoma was the next team to try to defeat the undefeated Gymdawgs in Athens but they were unsuccessful as UGA extended their winning streak to 7-0 with a season high mark of 197.475 to 195.950. Courtney nailed her vault for a 9.900 (3rd) but wasn't quite as stellar as usual on uneven bars, scoring a 9.825 (5th). She came back strong on beam, earning a 9.925 (1st) with a near perfect set. She was second to last on floor and nearly scored a perfect 10 with her 9.950 (1st)! She earned another all-around title by outscoring teammate Tiffany Tolnay 39.600-39.500. Courtney
is currently ranked 2nd in the nation in the all-around with an average score of
39.444 and a high score of 39.600. She is ranked 7th on vault with an average of
9.871 and a high of 9.925; 7th on bars with an average of 9.882 and a high of
9.950; 8th on beam with an average of 9.836 and a high of 9.925; and 3rd on
floor with an average of 9.887 and a high of 9.950. February 11, 2006: #3 Alabama, Georgia's arch rival, lost a close contest at home this weekend, scoring 196.625 - 196.575. UGA is now 6-0! Courtney anchored the bars rotation with a 9.875 (2nd) and
was second to last on vault, scoring a 9.900 (2nd). She was again 2nd to last on
floor, bringing in a solid 9.800 (6th) before closing the meet on beam with a
9.900 (1st)! This was Courtney's first all-around attempt in a few
competitions and she made the best of it, winning another title with a
39.475! February 4, 2006: The #1 Gymdawgs beat #14 LSU 197.150-196.100 in a sell out SEC dual this weekend in Athens. Almost 10,000 UGA fans were on hand to witness the victory. Courtney started with
a solid 9.850 on vault (5th) and anchored the bars rotation with another 9.850
(3rd). She anchored the beam rotation in her final routine of the night, scoring
a 9.875 (3rd). January 28, 2006: #5 Florida wasn't strong enough to defeat the #1 Gymdawgs even on home soil, losing 197.025-196.600. UGA's record is now 4-0! Courtney anchored the first rotation on uneven bars,
scoring a personal best of 9.950 (1st)! She scored a 9.900 on vault (1st) and
sat out the floor rotation before scoring a 9.925 on beam (1st). Wow, what a

Courtney started night one with a beautiful Podkopayeva vault, taking just one step (9.375). Her bar routine was nearly perfect, capping it off with a stuck landing (9.675) and her beam was also clean (9.600). The event where Courtney was most impressive on was floor. She did not tumble like a gymnast who sustained such a serious injury less than a year ago! She threw a double layout, double arabian, double pike, and her front tumbling pass (front 1/1, front layout) with great landings on each pass (9.425) to finish her competition. Courtney's total of 38.075 was the highest total of the day; she placed 1st on bars, 2nd on beam, 3rd on floor, and 6th on vault. Night two wasn't much different! Her bar routine was nearly identical to night one (9.625) but beam had a few more bobbles (9.525). She had so much power on her double arabian that she bounded out of bounds (9.225) but showed another clean Podkopayeva (9.300) to finish with a total of 37.675. Her total from both days was a 75.750. With each day's event standings combined, Courtney placed 8th on vault, 1st on bars, 2nd on beam, and 6th on floor! Congratulations on an excellent meet! Although
Courtney was named to the team, she must still prove her competitive form at the
Olympic Selection Camp, July 10th-18th, in New Waverly, Texas. The other
gymnasts who were selected for the camp were Courtney McCool, Mohini Bhardwaj,
Annia Hatch, Terin Humphrey, Allyse Ishino, Carly Janiga, Carly Patterson, Tasha
Schwikert, Liz Tricase, Hollie Vise, and Tabitha Yim. Chellsie Memmel, Marcia
Newby, and Nicole Harris petitioned to the camp and will also be competing. The
additional four members of the team will be anounced live on NBC on July 18th!
During prelims/event finals, Courtney started cleanly on bars for a 9.600 (2nd) and then went on to nail her beam routine for a 9.725 (1st). Her new floor routine was a hit with the crowd and the judges for a 9.425 (4th) and her Podkopayeva vault was clean for a 9.400 (9th); her total of 38.225 was the highest of the night! "Tonight I just wanted to compete and be consistent. I had a long struggle with my Achilles and am glad it is better." For all-around finals, Courtney started on beam but that didn't stop her from scoring the highest score of the meet - a 9.800! After scoring a 9.400 on floor and vault, she was .350 behind Carly Patterson. After Carly's vault that scored a 9.250, Courtney needed a 9.600 to share the gold and that is exactly what she got! "I'm just proud I've gotten through two days of competition. What a wonderful way to win this, to tie with somebody who's your friend! This win is a little sweeter since I came off an injury!" By placing in the top 12, Courtney is automatically qualified to both Olympic Trials and the US National Team. The other Trials qualifiers were Carly Patterson, Terin Humphrey, Courtney McCool, Allyse Ishino, Liz Tricase, Tabitha Yim, Tia Orlando, Tasha Schwikert, Nicole Harris, Carly Janiga, and Mohini Bhardwaj. Ashley Postell and Katie Heenan, who finished 13th and 14th, also made the National Team. Photos from both days of Nationals are up! Also be sure to
