There are few and far between that possess the attention-grabbing qualities that
make Lindsey Vanden Eykel the gymnast that she is. When you watch her, the distinctions of
a young athlete disappear and you are captivated by her seemingly effortless movements. The choreography, the difficult
skills, the concentration - all delivered without a flicker of focus or pause.
But perhaps the most impressive quality of Lindsey's is her tenacity.
She's spent endless hours training in the gym, rehabbing persistent and painful
injuries, undergoing surgeries, and sitting along the sidelines while other
gymnasts were living the dream that Lindsey once had... competing at the 2004
Olympics. But despite all of these setbacks, this Plano, Texas, native continues
to work hard and set new goals, now as a member of the UCLA Bruins
gymnastics team. As a freshman in 2005, Lindsey competed with the defending
national champions and was a clutch competitor at the NCAA Championships,
nailing her beam routine in the Super Six Final after another teammate suffered
a fall.
Thank you for stopping by Lindsey's official website. We hope you
enjoy the site and return soon! Don't forget to sign our guestbook!
