July 19, 2005

I am leaving for my last camp next week and that makes seven since October. Each camp gets a little better and I think it has helped me push myself knowing that I have to make certain improvements every month. I got to see Ivana last month at camp and she is doing great!! I am very happy and proud of her, and even though I miss her, I think the move was good for her. I hope to see Kahley at the Classic this year too.

I am excited for competition in July especially since we are taking 5 days off after Virginia to go to Washington DC and sight see. It's probably not the best time to take a vacation with Nationals a few weeks after but I might never get back there again. I have made some improvements to my routines this year. My new vault, a yurchenko 1 ½ is getting more consistent and I am happy with that. None of my new beam tumbling is consistent enough to put in yet, but I have added some new connections and new dance. Floor has been very frustrating for me. You would think that a whole year was enough time to get at least one new tumbling pass, but I guess not. I have been working 3 different passes but none of them are quite ready to put in yet. Bars have been my biggest accomplishment this year. I have a "real" release move now! Just last week I added two more new skills so I am working on being consistent and cleaning it up. I have upgraded my bar routine from an 8.6 to a 9.8 . My goal for this year is to score at least a 9.0 on every event. I have done that at camp, just not all at one camp. lol Thank you for all of your e-mails and letters. I love to read them and meet new people!

Aloha,
Tessa
