Hi everyone!

Sorry it took me so long to write again. It took me one whole week to make up the homework and tests that I missed from being away at the Cancun competition. I had so much fun in Mexico! All four of us hit all of our routines on the first day and that was really cool. I learned a lot on this trip like how to adjust to the equipment and heat and that next time I should pack better and remember a bathing suit! I learned a new vault 4 days before we left, a front handspring front tuck. I know it's not the hardest vault, but I wanted a chance to be in event finals. I haven't done a front handspring since level 6. On both days I landed it so I was really excited, but I think I got over excited because on event finals I fell on my normal vault. We were allowed to train on the beach which was so much better than a no air-conditioned gym and we spent half a day shopping. Morgan, Monica and Sam are so fun to hang out with! I hope we get another assignment together someday.

Ma Yanhong I was supposed to go to training camp three days after I got back, but the electricity was out at the ranch because of the hurricane. So now I have a lot of time to work new skills. I have been having so much fun trying all kinds of new things! Some of the new things like my whip double Arabian, inside stalder, and side aerial back pike chest roll on beam are almost ready to put into my routines. But I have also been working things like front layout full to a 1 1/2 front tuck dive roll, Ma dismount on bars (I have a lot of respect for Ma Yanhong because this one hurts!), a second vault, standing back full on beam, Onodi + Yang Bo connection, double layout on floor, round off + back full + two back handsprings to a double pike (No extra bonus, but it looks really cool). Maybe it will be a double full someday. These things may take a while but I am having a lot of fun training them. I don't have anything coming up until camp in December so I have a lot of time to increase my start values. My main focus this year is beam and floor.

I will write again to update you on my routines when I make progress. Thank you for visiting!

Aloha,
Tessa
